Seasons & Climate

Oman is divided into two climatic zones. The north is characterized by a hot, dry climate, whilst the south and the region of Salalah, where our fishing trips take place, benefit from a tropical influence. The weather there is hot all year round – over 25°C – and the nights are mild.

There are only two seasons: summer, marked by a period of monsoons from June-July to September, and winter, with its dry season from September to April-May. The Southern Oman season is dictated by a huge summer monsoon known locally as the ‘Khareef’. The angry sea’s are unfishable during that period so our season runs from the start of October through till May

Consequently, it is best to go on a fishing trip in the wintertime, when the climate is more favourable
and the temperature is around 28-30 °C.
